Diamond B Equine

Meet the Vet
Dr. Sadie Miller is a Nevada native. After completing her undergraduate studies at Cal Poly, she attended the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman before completing a rigorous internship at Comstock Equine. She has owned Diamond B Equine since 2014. Sadie, her husband Clint, and their four-legged creatures reside in Washoe Valley, where they enjoy being outside roping, hunting, and hiking.

Services
Diamond B Equine offers a wide range of services from routine care to diagnostic imaging. From preventative to treatment, you're covered.

Routine Care
Routine care for your equine partner is a program of preventative and proactive healthcare, including annual or semi-annual wellness exams, vaccinations, internal and external parasite control, dental care, and regular diagnostic testing. Diamond B Equine can help you with proper nutrition and farrier support as well.

Dentistry
Diamond B Equine focuses on the health of your horse's teeth and oral cavity, which is crucial for their overall health, digestion, and performance. We perform comprehensive oral exams to identify malocclusions, and then use power and hand floats to correct them. We recommend our dentistry service as a part of your horse's routine care.

Lameness
Diamond B Equine takes your performance horse's functionality to heart. Our lameness exams include a history, physical exam, gait analysis, hoof testing, flexion tests, nerve and joint blocks, diagnostic imaging, and treatment plans.

Pre-Purchase Exams
We recommend a pre-purchase exam prior to any performance horse investment. This comprehensive, case-by-case assessment of a horse's health and soundness helps you, the buyer, make an informed decision about a purchase. It involves a detailed physical exam, a lameness evaluation under various conditions, and diagnostic testing such as X-rays or bloodwork. The goal is to identify pre-existing health issues or risks associated with the horse's intended use, but it does not guarantee future health or serve as a pass/fail test. Pre-purchase exams evaluate lameness, optics, and neurologic status.

Diagnostic Imaging
Diamond B Equine offers the latest in diagnostic imaging. X-ray and ultrasound are non-invasive ways to obtain detailed internal images of your horse's body. Evaluating internal structures is a vital measure for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic imaging tool that may be used to diagnose gastric ulcers, gutteral pouch infections, bladder stones, and more. At this time, we currently offer gastroscopy services only, but we can help direct you to the appropriate specialist.

Shockwave
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate the body's natural healing processes, promote tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain in animals with various conditions, such as osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, bone fractures, and wounds. The therapy works by stimulating cellular responses in the tissue, resulting in increased blood flow and the release of growth factors that accelerate healing.

Pharmacy
Once Diamond B Equine has diagnosed what is ailing your horse, we have a full pharmacy for both treatment and preventative care.
